Email – Request a New Deployment Type

- Email - Request a New Deployment Type
If you are launching a new email product and need a corresponding deployment type added to the Omeda Platform, simply follow these 2 steps below:
- Download and fill out the Email Product Set-up Template
- Submit a Jira ticket and attach the completed template, selecting the component “Omail Support” in your Jira ticket, and indicating which Omeda Profile(s) you need the new Product added to.
If you need assistance, or have questions about the template, please refer to the Glossary Table below, or contact your Audience Services Manager/Director.
Note: any new deployment types created will automatically pre-populate with all global optouts
Template Header | What is it for? | Details | Example |
Deployment Type (50 Character Limit) | The INTERNAL Email Name | We recommend that you chose a name that allows you to easily identity the name in reports and queries. You can use abbreviated descriptors for Brand (e.g. ABC Brand) and Email Type (e.g. Newsletter = NL), to name your deployment Type. NOTE: If requesting a new deployment type for a Digital Edition, you must note if it is audited or non-audited. | ABC-NL-My Weekly |

External Name | The EXTERNAL Email Name | This is the name your subcribers will see on the Unsubscribe confirmation page. This is easily changeable via Email Builder -> Tools -> Opt-out Settings | ABC Brand – My Weekly Newsletter |
Domain | Domain for this Deployment Type | Please tell us which of your domains this deployment type should send from. If you require a new domain, please state NEW-[DOMAIN NAME]. You will need to enter an additional JIRA ticket with the domain request information. | email.mydomain.com |
Designation | The Email Designation | Select the Type of the Deployment from the Dropdown. You will be able to segment reports by their Designation. | Newsletter, Marketing, Events, etc. |
From_name | The “Friendly” From Name | Please tell us the “friendly” name you would like the recipient to see when receiving your email. This is easily changeable after the initial set up by accessing Email Builder -> Tools -> Deployment Defaults and then selecting the appropriate deployment type from the drop down. | ABC Brand Editors |
Mailbox | The Name before the @-sign | Please provide the NAME that you want to appear before the @-sign in the From Email. This is easily changeable after the initial set up by accessing Email Builder -> Tools -> Deployment Defaults and then selecting the appropriate deployment type from the drop down. | News@email.ABCbrand.com |
Reply_to_email | The Reply-to Email (OPTIONAL) | Please provide a “Reply-To” email if you want a reply to your email product to go to a specified address. You can also chose a do-not-reply@mydomain.com if replies aren’t monitored, or leave this blank if you prefer all responses to be dropped. This is easily changeable after the initial set up by accessing Email Builder -> Tools -> Deployment Defaults and then selecting the appropriate deployment type from the drop down. |
